START QUT is an enhanced studies program that offers university experience and preferential entry for Year 12 students undertaking the Queensland Certificate of Education, NSW High School Certificate, International Baccalaureate and/or Accelerated Christian Education (or equivalent) programs. START QUT allows students passing two units to gain admission to selected QUT courses and commence studies in semester 1 after finishing Year 12.

Students who would like to participate in the program during Year 12 must display grades of a B average or above, be recommended by their school and have parent/guardian support. Students accepted into the program will be awarded a QUT scholarship to cover the cost of their tuition fees.

START QUT students will study university units in the same classes as current QUT students, improving their preparation for university study. There is the potential to reduce future HECS debt as a result of academic credit for completed studies.

Justice units are the only units offered externally as part of the START QUT program allowing students the choice to study externally (on-line) or on-campus. Please note the Bachelor of Laws is not a guaranteed entry degree however Justice units may be used as elective credit towards a Bachelor of Laws. The Bachelor of Justice is a guaranteed entry degree.

For application forms, the list of units available and the full list of guaranteed entry courses please visit http://www.scholarships.qut.edu.au/commencing/start/.
