QUT selects applicants for courses with Assumed Knowledge irrespective of their year 12 subject choices. Pre-requisites or compulsory high school subjects are no longer required, rather we assume that you have the required knowledge and teach the courses accordingly.

However, excellent English language skills are essential for a career in the legal field and are just as important to practitioners in the criminal justice system. All our degree programs require you to have a sound knowledge of English.

Law degrees in combination with Business and Science also require you to have a good knowledge of Maths. The Assumed Knowledge page explains this in detail.

Entrants into Law and Justice at QUT often have completed Legal Studies at high school. Again, this is not compulsory for entry to QUT, however this is a good way of testing your interest in the discipline prior to university.
