This prize was established to recognise the significant contribution to the community made by the late Toni Dick, a graduate of the Faculty of Law at QUT.

The prize is awarded annually to the student whom the trustees of the prize believe has contributed most to the community through volunteer and/or charitable work.

About Toni Dick

Toni studied for her LLB at QIT between 1981 and 1985 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 1986. Following her admission, Toni worked in private practice, specialising in the fields of family law and alternative dispute resolution, until her untimely death from cancer in late 2000.

Who may apply?

The prize is open to all female postgraduate students of the QUT Faculty of Law.

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • are a female postgraduate Law or Justice Studies student who was enrolled in the 2007 academic year; and
  • have contributed to the community through volunteer and/or charitable work, for example, work at the Women’s Legal Service or similar community legal aid service.

What is the Prize?

The value of the prize is $550. The funds for this prize have been donated by the family and friends of Toni Dick.

Individuals may nominate/apply themselves or nominations may be made by peers or academic staff.
