[Print-friendly version]

This scholarship was first offered in 1999 and is sponsored by Blake Dawson (formerly Blake Dawson Waldron) in memory of the late Rod Bush – the first Managing Partner of the Brisbane office.

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to full-time law students entering their final year of study at QUT.

About Rod Bush

Rod Bush was the first Managing Partner of the firm’s Brisbane office, and had the enjoyable task of attracting new Articled Clerks to what was then an unknown southern firm in Queensland. Rod looked for “that extra spark of enthusiasm” and was impressed by applicants who worked hard to put themselves through university and managed to excel academically. Rod is sadly missed and Blake Dawson is pleased to dedicate this scholarship in his honour.

Who may apply?

Available for full-time QUT students undertaking the Bachelor of Laws degree (including double degrees) who will enter their final year of study at the time of application.

The scholarship is open to domestic applicants only.

What is the value of the Scholarship?

The scholarship is valued at the equivalent of 1 year of full-time HECS, which is paid as a cash stipend, with half of the amount being paid at the beginning of each semester.

For 2011 the value of this scholarship is $9080.
