Mock Trial

Utilising QUT's state of the art Electronic Moot Court on our Gardens Point campus, students play the parts of judges, members of the press, the bailiff and the jury as Hansel and Gretel are put on trial for allegedly murdering the seemingly kind old lady who took them in after they lost their way.

The mock trial is an interactive program that enables students to question witnesses, answer questions about court procedures, and view an interactive crime scene map. Students will learn about court procedures, legal terminology and sections of the Queensland Act.

Criminology and Intelligence Training

Working in teams, students are tasked with solving a crime which occurred the previous evening. Our 'Junior Detectives' will work in teams to analyse evidence, identify potential suspects and develop a line of questioning which they will ultimately use to catch the criminal.

Students have to think about questions to ask the witnesses, learn about reading body language and also learn about leading edge technology using Analyst Notebook software.

Clayton Utz Law Library Tour

Students will learn about the workings of a university library, and gain access to online information as though they were enrolled at QUT.
