Lecturer
Dan Young is a partner with Allen Allen and Hemsley, an international firm.
He specialises in the law of construction and engineering. His experience in
drafting, negotiating and advising on construction and engineering contracts,
and on related documents such as consultants’ terms of engagement and financiers’
documents, is extensive.
Dan is currently involved in some major private infrastructure projects and
delivery of several regional Australian shopping-centre projects. He regularly
publishes and presents papers to the construction industry in his areas of expertise
and has recently completed ‘Current Issues in Government Tendering and
Contracting Practice’, a chapter for an upcoming text. Dan is on the Queensland
Construction Law Committee, Business Law Section, Law Council of Australia,
and the Queensland committee of the Australian Council on Tall Buildings and
Urban Habitat.
