Sheryl Jackson has a background in professional practice, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation, taxation law and intellectual property law. She has taught for many years in 'Civil Procedure', 'Advanced Civil Procedure' and 'Intellectual Property Law'.

Her primary research interest is the area of civil litigation. She has co-authored books entitled: The Law of Caveats in Australia and New Zealand (Pearson Professional) and Civil Procedure: Commentary and Materials (Butterworths), currently proceeding to its third edition. She is principal author of the System@Law Litigators Toolkit, an on-line commentary service relating to the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules, is a regular contributor to Proctor in relation to practice and procedure, and has published numerous articles and conference papers in the area of procedural law. She is a member of the Litigation and Practice Section of the Queensland Law Society.

Sheryl has a particular interest in the role of technology in the litigation process, is a member of the Law Faculty's E-moot Court Working Party, and has given several demonstrations and papers on that topic.
