Head, School of LawBA LLB(Hons) Qld, LLM Syd, PhD Qld Contact: Room: C762 (Gardens Point) Professor Rosalind Mason holds degrees from both The University of Queensland and Sydney University and comes to us with extensive experience in senior management and leadership positions. Most recently, Rosalind held the positions of Head of University of Southern Queensland’s Law Department and Deputy Dean of their Business Faculty. Professor Mason is a member of a number of professional organisations including as a nominated member to the International Insolvency Institute; a member of INSOL International’s Academics Forum, the Law Council of Australia, the International Bar Association and ALTA - the Australasian Law Teachers Association, and an associate member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia. Rosalind has extensive research experience which is reflected by a high publication output, especially in the areas of International Insolvency Law, Consumer Bankruptcy issues and Australian Corporate Insolvency Law and Practice. In addition, Rosalind has an ongoing interest in institutional planning and governance. Rosalind’s most recent publications include: ‘Local Proceedings in a Multistate Liquidation: Issues of Jurisdiction’, Melbourne University Law Review (2006), ‘Private International Law’ in M. Gronow (ed), McPherson The Law of Company Liquidation (5th ed 2006) and ‘Insolvency Law in Australia’ in R Tomasic (ed), Insolvency Law in East Asia, Ashgate (2006). In addition to her career in academia, Rosalind has continued to uphold, over many years, significant service roles in the profession, the community and in higher education. For example, during 2006, she was a member of Insolvency Law Advisory Group established by Treasury to provide technical advice and commentary on draft legislation to improve the operation of Australia’s corporate insolvency laws. |
