Lecturer

Elizabeth Dickson joined the staff of the Law School at QUT in January 2006. She had previously worked in the Law School at the University of Queensland. She is also a qualified teacher and has taught in schools from both the state and independent education sectors. At QUT, Elizabeth teaches Legal Institutions and Method, Contract Law and Discrimination Law. She is also an experienced lecturer in Tort Law.
Elizabeth is a member of the Law Faculty Equity Committee and is a Discrimination Contact Officer for the QUT community.
Elizabeth’s research interests are in the areas of discrimination law and education law and she has published widely in these areas. Her PhD thesis involved an analysis of the effectiveness of discrimination law in delivering equality of opportunity in education to people with disabilities.
Elizabeth is a member of the Executive Committee of the Queensland Chapter of the Australia and New Zealand Education Law Association and, with Professor Joy Cumming of Griffith University, is co-editor of the Australia and New Zealand Journal of Law and Education.
