Associate Lecturer LLM QUT, Legal Practitioner (Queensland) Contact: Room: C721 Gardens Point Campus Donna joined the Law Faculty in January 2001 as an Associate Lecturer. She commenced her legal career when she completed Articles at Hunt & Hunt and was admitted as a Legal Practitioner in 1989. She then practised exclusively in family law at Hunt & Hunt and subsequently McInnes, Wilson & Jensen for six years. Subsequently, Donna worked at Legal Aid Queensland as the Coordinator of their Dispute Resolution section, managing the family law conference program throughout Queensland. Donna, an experienced family law mediator, is a Queensland Law Society approved mediator and on the panel of chairpersons for family law conferences at Legal Aid Queensland. She is a current member of the Queensland Law Society Family Law Specialist Accreditation and Family Law Committees. She holds memberships with the Queensland Family Law Practitioner's Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Prior to joining the QUT Law Faculty, Donna worked as a Senior Research Assistant in the Griffith University Law Faculty, Family Law Research Unit. Whilst working there, she was involved in the following projects:
In 2003 Donna completed her Masters of Law degree. In the course of her Masters she completed a research project "The Federal Magistrates Service - Has it achieved it's Goals to Date?" The results of this project are contained in the article, 'When Rolls Royce and Holden Justice Collide: An Analysis of the Operations of the Federal Magistrates Service in Queensland in the Family Law Arena'.
