Barbara Hamilton is Unit Coordinator of Succession. She does most of the teaching in this unit. She also teaches the related subjects Equity and Trusts and in the LLM unit Estate Planning.

Barbara currently publishes articles in the areas of succession and inheritance, equity and trusts. Her most recent publications are: 'Be Nice to your Parents: or Else!' (2006) 4 Elder Law Review (published on the US National Elder Law Network); ‘The Doctrine of Unconscionable Bargains in Equity: Potent Sword for Estate Lawyers' (2007) 27 Queensland Lawyer 180; ‘The New World of Wills’ (2007) June Proctor 21. She is undertaking a PhD on Deficiencies in succession and elder law doctrines and remedies.

Barbara speaks regularly at professional conferences for estate lawyers. She is a member of the Queensland Law Society Succession Law Section and Succession Law Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee. She is a member of QUT Faculty of Law Academic Dishonesty Committee.

She has extensive law teaching experience and has taught a wide range of subjects at QUT law faculty as well as Bond University and Griffith University law schools.
