Amanda joined the Faculty staff as an Associate Lecturer in 1999. Prior to her appointment she had been a casual academic with the Law Faculty since 1996, tutoring in torts and contracts and as well as being the Senior Research Assistant to the Centre for Commercial and Property Law.

Amanda coordinates the first year subjects of Fundamental of Torts and Select Issues in Torts and is the First Year Coordinator. Amanda is a member of the Law School Learning and Teaching Committee and the Faculty of law’s Professional Development Leave Committee.  Since 2002 she has been the Torts Section Editor of the Queensland Lawyer and regularly publishes articles in the areas of torts and property law. Amanda is the co-author of the textbook, Australian Torts Law, LexisNexis Butterworths, 2005.  Currently Amanda is enrolled in a SJD, researching whether the consumer protection provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) are achieving their objectives in respect of consumers who suffer economic loss from misrepresentations (a comparison of the common law and consumer protection legislation).
