The Faculty has approximately 100 full-time academic staff members across the areas of Law, Justice Studies and Legal Practice, in addition there are many part-time lecturers and tutors drawn from the ranks of practitioners in Law and Justice. The Law Library also has professional staff to manage the collection of around 80,000 volumes.

All staff have recognised academic qualifications and practical experience, and many come from jurisdictions other than Queensland. Full-time staff are encouraged to take Professional Experience Leave or Higher Degree Study Leave and be engaged in research and scholarly activity.

There is a very challenging learning environment with many innovations introduced by teaching teams and a very active research and publications ethos among staff.
