The QUT Equity Awards is a biennial event to recognise the achievement of staff and students who have made contributions to equity through teaching, research and community service. The awards recognised individuals, groups and projects which assisted Indigenous people, people from low socio-economic backgrounds, people with disabilities, women in non-traditional areas of study, and people whose first language was not English. There are a number of Equity Award recipients from the Faculty of Law.
The QUT Equity Initiative Grants were established to provide support for projects which enhance student equity at QUT and promote good practice and innovation in implementing student equity. There are a number of Equity grant recipients from the Faculty of Law.
The 2005 Equity Initiative Grants of up to $10,000 are open to all current QUT academic and professional staff (individuals and groups) for outcome-based projects which contribute to improved access, participation, success or retention for students from equity groups.
Equity Targets
The aim of QUT is for its student body to reflect the cultural and social diversity of the university’s catchment area community.
